Fuji Paint Sprayers are great if you are a hobbyist that works on small projects all the time. There’s a lot of fuss, a lot of mess, and a lot of lost time when working on smaller jobs. The Fuji Hobby Pro looks to change that for you.
Here’s how it worked during our test period.
Best Features of this Fuji Paint Sprayer
This HVLP spray system is based on an industrial-design no-bleed spray gun. You’re given pattern control from the knob, so you can have the correct fan pattern for painting at all times.
You can create a tightly controlled fan, or open it up wide for fast coverage; it’s totally up to you. The spray gun comes with a stainless-steel fluid nozzle and needle, which helps prevent clogging while you’re working.
No need to worry about it getting too hot either; the handle is insulated for comfort. Plus, with 25 feet of hose to work with, you’ve got the flexibility to move freely around your shop or garage.
No compressor needed

What We Discovered with the Fuji Paint Sprayers
Many hobbyist machines tend to create a lot of overspray. If you’re a bit too close, you’ll find a lot of runs happening and not much forgiveness.
The Fuji Hobby Pro 2 HVLP Spray System is a little more forgiving.
You’ll still have some overspray to plan for, especially around the edges of your surface. But thanks to the included air control valve, you can dial things in to reduce overspray and cut down on bounce back.
The connections between the spray system and the HVLP sprayer are straightforward; just tighten them and you’re good to go. The hose stays flexible while you work, and you won’t lose pressure as you move around.
And with the included filters, you can skip those long paint-straining sessions and get right to work.
We found the Hobby Pro to be a solid system that seems pretty easy to maintain, especially with the 1.8mm tip that comes standard with it. If you need a larger tip, you can grab a 2.0mm Aircap set #6.

What About Big Projects with the Hobby Pro?
This might be billed as a hobbyist machine, but it can get bigger jobs done as well. If you’re looking to paint a deck or even a house, the performance of this unit is beyond question.
We successfully used it on cabinets, exteriors, and decking. It looks and feels like a huge airbrush as you work.
It isn’t all roses when it comes to using the Hobby Pro.
What you won’t Love about Fuji Paint Sprayers
The system is definitely on the noisy side. We like that it’s small and easy to move around, but if you’re working in a tight space, your ears will notice it fast. Some hearing protection is a good idea.
The hose fittings are another small hiccup. They stay secure, but they tend to brush against you while you’re working. That can cause them to loosen over time, so you might find yourself pausing now and then to tighten them back up.
Conclusion
Overall, we found that this Fuji Paint Sprayer does the work of sprayers twice its price and still provides superior results. We loved using it and think you will too.
