When we first got our hands on this particular unit to give it a try, we weren’t overly excited. Yet the Graco Project Painter Plus managed to win us over thanks to the results that it was able to provide with a wide variety of mediums. Here is an overview of our experiences with this tool and what we found that it could do.

It’s Easy to Get Started Using the Graco Project Painter Plus

This tool will take the paint directly from the can for you so that you can get started painting immediately. It works with both 1 gallon and 5 gallon cans thanks to a paint supply hose that is flexible instead of rigid like other models with a similar design. Weighing 15 pounds, you can also take this unit just about anywhere and achieve professional results.

The Graco Project Painter Plus is a bit picky when it comes to the materials that you can spray with consistency. Latex paint works the best. It did an adequate job with some stains, but it had to be a stain with a thicker viscosity. It did a great job spraying acrylic paint. What it doesn’t do well is spray lacquers or enamels. It will clog if you use materials that have textures in them.

You also get a stable experience thanks to the pail hook included in the sprayer’s design. As long as your project requires the thicker viscosity items mentioned above, we found the results to be smooth and consistent.

Cleaning Up Is About As Easy As It Gets

The Graco Project Painter Plus includes a PowerFlush adaptor with purchase. This allows you to hook up a garden hose to this machine to help clean it out. In just a couple minutes, assuming your water supply has consistent pressure, you’ll be able to clean up the machine with ease. Just don’t clean up out by your lawn because the thinner paint will still coat your grass or put paint on your patio or porch. Clean up in a protected area.

We also appreciated the easy-to-access adjustable pressure controls that are on this Graco unit. Everything you need is placed on a dial that is easy to turn, even while working, and the symbols for each setting are placed in such a way that you can easily see them so you don’t have to guess at what you’re doing.

The overspray is minimal, but environmental conditions can affect the little bit that does exist. Make sure you watch the wind while working outside. The one issue we do see with this particular sprayer is that the pump is not currently repairable, so if it breaks down, you’re purchasing a new machine unless you’re still under warranty.

With solid instructions and an effective design, we were pleasantly surprised by what the Graco Project Painter Plus was able to achieve. We have no hesitation in recommending this sprayer to you today.
